Pseudomonas quercus Li et al. 2021.
Gram-negative, short rods, 0.5-0.7 x 1.2-1.5 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are yellowish orange, circular, opaque, entire, approximately 1.0-1.2 mm in
diameter after 48h growth at 30 ºC on TSA (pH 7.0). No fluorescent pigment is
produced on King's B agar. Grows at 15-37 ºC (optimum 30 ºC), at pH 6.0-8.0
(optimum pH 7.0) and in the presence of 0-4% NaCl. Grows well on nutrient agar,
nutrient broth, TSA and R2A media. Aerobic.
Isolated from leaf spot tissue of Quercus mongolica collected in Beijing, PR China.
Associated with leaf spot disease in Quercus mongolica.
Experimental infection reproduced the spot symptoms showing lesions 2-3mm in diameter 2 weeks after incubation at 20 ºC in a
plant growth incubator.

Positive results for acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase (weak),c atalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), beta-glucosidase
(weak), gelatinase, leucine arylamidase, nitrates reduction, naphthol-ASBI-phosphohydrolase (weak), trypsin (weak), valine
arylamidase (weak) and Voges-Proskauer test.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE): D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GN III):  D-galacturonic acid, L-galactonic acid lactone, D-glucuronic acid, glucuronamide,
mucic acid and malic acid.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, cystine arylamidase, Simmons citrate, alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha-fucosidase, alpha- and
beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha-glucosidase, H
2S production, indole production, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase,
lipase (C14), lysine decarboxylase, alpha-mannosidase, ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, tryptophane deaminase, urease and acid
production from glucose.
No assimilation of: D-mannitol, capric acid  and phenylacetate.
No utilization of: dextrin, D-galactose and D-fructose.
