Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas schmalbachii Shelomi et al. 2021.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.8-0.9 x 2.5-3.1 μm. Motile.
Colonies are white, circular, convex, glossy and 1.5-2.0 mm in diameter after 48 h of
aerobic growth at 24 ºC on nutrient agar. Grows at 15-45 ºC (optimum 40 ºC), at pH
6.0-9.0 (optimum pH 8.0) and in the presence of 0-7% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from the digestive tract of the common Asian or rusty millipede, (Trigoniulus corallinus) living in decaying coconut trees, in
Taiwan.
Undetermined.
