Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.3-0.4 x 1.2–3.2 µm, motile (non-flagellated). Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are light yellow, smooth, circular and convex with regular edges. When
tested on TSB, growth occurs within the temperature range of 15-42  ºC (not at 15 or
42 ºC), at pH from 6 to 9 and in 0-4% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from domestic sewage from Tianjin, China.

Description is based mostly on API 20 E, API ZYM, API 50 CH and Biolog GEN III MicroPlate results.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8),
alpha-galactosidase (weakly), beta-glucuronidase (weakly), leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, oxidase and
starch hydrolysis.
Can utilize as sole carbon source: dextrin, maltose, gentiobiose, melibiose, alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-galactose,
3-formyl glucose, D- and L-fucose, L-rhamnose, glycerol, D-glucose-6-phosphate, D-fructose-6-phosphate, D-serine, L-alanine,
L-arginine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-histidine, L-serine, D-galacturonic acid, D-galactonic acid lactone, D-gluconic acid,
D-glucuronic acid, glucuronamide, mucic acid, quininic acid, methyl pyruvate, D-lactic acid methyl ester, L-lactic acid, citric acid,
alpha-keto-glutaric acid, D- and L-malic acid, bromine-succinic acid, Tween 40, beta-hydroxyl-D,L-butyric acid, acetoacetic acid,
propionic acid, acetic acid, D-serine and 1 % sodium lactate.

Negative results for catalase, cystine arylamidase, beta-fucosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, gelatin liquefaction, H
2S
production, indole production, lysine decarboxylase, alpha-mannosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, ornithine decarboxylase,
tryptophan deaminase, urease, Voges-Proskauer test, trypsin, chymotrypsin, valine arylamidase, acid production from: glucose,
mannitol, inositol, sorbitol, rhamnose, sucrose, melibiose, amygdalin and arabinose.
No utilization of: trehalose, cellobiose, sucrose, turanose, stachiose, raffinose, lactose,  methyl beta-D-glucoside , D-salicin,
N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-Acetyl-beta-D-mannoside, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, inosine, D-sorbitol, D-mannitol, D-arabitol,
myo-inositol, D-aspartic acid, gelatin, glycyl-L-proline, L-pyroglutamic acid, pectin, D-saccharic acid, p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid,
gamma aminobutyric acid alpha-ketobutyric acid,alpha-hydroxy-butyric acid, and formic acid.
