Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas typographi Peral-Aranega et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.6 x 1.0 μm. Motile by a polar flagellum. Non-spore-forming.
Grows at 4-37 ºC (optimum 28 ºC), at pH 6-10 (optimum pH 8) and in the presence of
0-4% NaCl (optimum 1% NaCl). Grows on TSA and in TSB medium. Aerobic.
Isolated from the bark beetle (Ips typographus) adults and larvae in Czech Republic.
Undetermined. May inhibit the growth of some fungal entomopathogens.

Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, nitrate reduction, oxidase,
pectin hydrolysis, starch hydrolysis, urease, xylan hydrolysis and acid production from:
D-glucose (weak), glycerol, erythritol, L-arabinose, D-ribose, D-xylose, D-galactose, D-fructose, D-mannose, L-rhamnose, inositol,
D-sorbitol, D-maltose, gentiobiose, D-turanose, D-fucose and D-arabitol. Weak-positive result for the degradation of alpha- and
beta-glucosidase, alpha-xylosidase, beta-xylosidase, and cellulose hydrolysis.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE): D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, caprate, adipate, and trisodium
citrate.
Negative results for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, indole production, acid production from: D-arabinose,
D-adonitol, dulcitol, L-sorbose, D-melibiose, D-saccharose (sucrose), D-trehalose, glycogen, D-tagatose and L-fucose.
No assimilation of: N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose and phenylacetate.
