Species decription is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6-0.8 x 1.9-2.0 µm. Motile by one polar flagellum. Non-spore
forming.
Colonies are yellow-orange with a smooth surface after 48 h at 28 ºC. Growth occurs
at 20-40 ºC (optimum 28 uC), at pH 7–11 (optimum pH 7) and in the presence of 0–
5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 0%). Aerobic.
Isolated from saline and alkaline soils in Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province, China.

trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, valine arylamidase, acid production from L-fucose, D- and L-arabitol.
No utilization of: caprate, cellobiose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-mannitol, L-rhamnose, L-histidine, L-serine, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine,
D-sorbitol and sucrose.
