Gram-positive cocci, 1 μm in diameter, forming clusters.
Colonies are round, 1.7 mm in diameter, convex, smooth, yellow and beta-haemolytic
on blood agar. Facultatively anaerobic. Can grow in 6.5% NaCl.
Isolated from the nares of a red-tailed monkey (Cercopithecus ascanius) from Gabon, Africa. Susceptible to novobiocin. Resistant to
polymixin B.
Undetermined. Isolated from the nares of Cercopithecus ascanius within 12 h after the death of the animal.

arylamidase, proline arylamidase, alpha-galactosidase, tyrosine arylamidase, acid production from: amygdalin, alpha-cyclodextrin,
galactose, lactose, pullulan, raffinose, salicin, sorbitol and xylose.
