Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Vibrionales, Family Vibrionaceae, Vibrio Group 510. It
is closely related to Vibrio diazotrophicus and may become a named biogroup or subspecies of V. diazotrophicus.
Gram-negative motile cells. Not swarming on complex media.
Grows in media supplemented with 1 to 8% NaCl. Variable growth in 0% or 10% NaCl
medium.
The reference strain was isolated from an infected human leg wound.
Possible opportunistic pathogen.

Positive results for indole (Heart Infusion Broth, 1% NaCl), nitrate reduction to nitrite,
oxidase, acid production from: D-glucose, L-arabinose, cellobiose, D-galactose,
maltose, D-mannitol, sucrose, trehalose and D-xylose.
Negative results for Voges-Proskauer (1% NaCl), arginine (1% NaCl), lysine (1% NaCl),
ornithine (1% NaCl), gas production from D-glucose, qcid production from: D-adonitol,
D-arabitol, dulcitol, myo-inositol, melibiose, raffinose, L-rhamnose, salicin and D-sorbitol.
Variable results for acid production from lactose and D-mannose.
